
- Blackout Curtains: This is your best investment. Make your room pitch black.
- Temperature Control: It is hard to sleep when it’s 32°C at noon. Use a fan or AC to keep your room cool.
- The “Do Not Disturb” Rule: Explain to your family that 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM is your “night.” If they wouldn’t wake you up at 3:00 AM to wash dishes, they shouldn’t wake you up at 11:00 AM either.
- Snack Lightly: Stick to nuts, fruits, or protein shakes during the shift.
- Hydrate: Air conditioning dehydrates you. Keep a 1-liter water bottle on your desk and finish it twice a night.
- Caffeine Cut-off: Stop drinking coffee 4 hours before your shift ends, or you won’t be able to sleep when you log off.
